The Caste System

The Aryans were the ones who divided the castes the into groups. Here are a list of the caste system.

Brahmin is the first one. This is the group of the preists, teachers and the judges.

The next one is the Kshatriya. This is the group of warriors.

Then comes the Vaisya. This group contains farmers and merchants and Sudras, were laborers and craftsworkers.

Then its the untouchables. This group is people beyond the caste system in the outcaste.

Caste are not used a lot in modern India. It is not used a lot because India chose to be demoratic. Now people in different castes talk to each other. In some places in India the caste system is still used but in other places it isn't.  



The Rules Of Government

        Here are some of the Caste Rules:

Brahman men were allowed to go to school, or teach in schools (Brahmen women could not go to school).

People who came from different caste could not eat together.

Usually people from one caste didn't marry or make friends with people from another caste.
