Geography (India)

        India is located in Sothern Asia. It is bordering the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, between Burma and Pakistan.

        India also has many mountain ranges. One of them is the Himalayas. This mountain range forms the Northern Indian Penninsula. It has the highest elevation in the world. The Himalayas gives birth to the Indus River. The Himalayas is 2,500km.

        India has many rivers here is a list of some of them, Godavari, Narmada, Yamuna, Ganga, Saraswati and the Indus River. The Indus River rises in Tibet north of the Himalayas. It is one of the chief rivers of Southern Asia. The Indus flows some 1,990 miles through India and Pakistan to the Arabian Sea.

        India goes back a long time. Some of the early cities are the Mohenjadra and Harappa. These cities ruins were found in 1925. They think that these cities started during the first milliennium B.C. These cities were located by the Indus River. They still have not deciphered the cities scripts. They dont know much about the city, it is still a mystery.

        The houses of the cities were built of brick. They also had bathrooms and lavatories. They found pottery and hoards of gold and silver. That was a clue suggesting that the cities were rich. There were lots of streets and secondary streets. The people that made these cities were very smart. These early cities are now in Pakistan. People are still trying to uncover more of the beautiful cities.
